I am Américo.

Hey there! My name is Américo. I originally come from Chile and moved to Berlin in May 2020. In my hometown, Santiago, I studied the program of "Film and Television" at the University of Chile. This was not just a film school but a complete Bachelor's degree that involved not just the "how-to" of creating audiovisual storytelling but also social and media communication theory from the most important intellectual eminences of the century.
As a filmmaker and videographer, I have a special interest in mission-driven corporations and socially engaging storytelling. After more than seven years working in the industry, I've gone through several positions, working mostly in the camera and lightning department for short films and promotional videos—mostly with Blackmagic and Sony cameras, as well as an operator for multi-camera set-ups (PTZ systems) for broadcasting, where I've operated up to four cameras simultaneously.
A secondary—but not less skilled—area I've worked in is post-production. As a colorist and certified user of DaVinci Resolve, I've done color correction and developed looks for feature films, short films, and videos of all kinds, enhancing image quality and translating narrative worlds into vibrant images that communicate beyond just content.
And last but not least, as an editor in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere, I put my efforts into adapting rhythm and making meticulous selections of shot order to keep the cinematic language rich. I work with versions in order to try all possibilities and decide along with stakeholders what makes the most sense.
In my last full-time position as Video Producer and Head of Studio for the Berlin-based start-up 150Minuten GmbH, I had the chance to apply all my skills—producing more than 100 on-demand courses (avg. 30 min long) and over 2,000 hours of live training broadcasts, 98% free of failure. I led a five-person operator team, ensuring consistent quality and a friendly environment for both operators and trainers.
